Supplementing Your Global Delivery Model with Low Cost Domestic Sourcing

For over two decades, sourcing for services across both IT and Business Process sectors has gone global. The shift “offshore” has caused vigorous debate among industry, government, and the media on the impact of globalization on U.S. innovation, and the socio-economic effect on the U.S. workforce. In response, IT services providers have been examining ways to deliver more cost effective IT solutions domestically by looking at new U.S. locations as potential sourcing destinations.

TechAmerica Foundation was pleased to host a presentation by Debashish Sinha, Chief Marketing Officer, Systems In Motion, who provided an overview of how U.S. state governments, government agencies and private companies who are interested in promoting low cost domestic sourcing destinations in their state can:

• Identify potential areas of focus (skill sets, company type, industry, etc.) that may be appropriate for LCD;
• Explain the criteria enterprises and service providers use in identifying appropriate LCD destinations; and
• Discuss potential actions public institutions can take in order to encourage the development of LCD services in their states.

Debashish Sinha, Chief Marketing Officer, Systems In Motion. Debashish manages the brand, as well as all marketing and sales enablement activities. Prior to joining Systems In Motion, Debashish headed marketing at HCL America, a $3B Indian IT services company. His past experience spans over 16 years in the services marketing and sourcing industry, including several years spent as a Principal Analyst at Gartner, and Managing Partner at Conscient Partners.
