On June 13, 2012, TechAmerica Foundation will present the American Technology Awards, which bestows the only “Best Of” awards that recognize all technology products and services for the technology industry. Nominations for The American Technology Awards “The Termans” are vetted by industry experts and technology companies.

Individual Terman Awards will be presented for products and services at the Technology and Government Dinner on June 13, 2012 in the following industries:

  • Aerospace & Defense
  • Clean Tech/Green Tech
  • Cloud Computing/Software as a Service
  • Consumer Electronics/Computers and Peripherals
  • Cyber Security & Authentication
  • Health & Medical Technologies
  • Internet Services & E-Commerce
  • IT Services & Consulting
  • Semiconductors & Electronic Components
  • Server & Storage Technology
  • Smart Grid & Smart Instruments
  • Software
  • Technology Manufacturing
  • Telecommunications

Industry

  • Nomination Fee: $400 (per technology product, service, program, etc.)
  • Each Additional Category: $200 (see nomination requirements below)

Government

  • Nomination Fee: $200
  • Each Additional Category: $100


How to Win an Award?


Judging is a two round process. The initial round, to select the four finalists in each category, is conducted by independent judges, primarily industry specific press contacts. Each TechAmerica member firm is entitled to one vote per category in the final round of judging. The winner of each Terman Award will have been selected not only by industry experts, but also by peers in the industry.

  • Nominations Conclude: Friday, March 16, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern)
  • First Round Judging Concludes: April 17, 2012 (Finalists will be notified on or by April 20, 2012.)
  • Winners will be selected by May 2, 2012 (Winners will be announced at the Technology and Government Dinner on June 13, 2012)

Judges should not be required to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements.

Nomination Requirements


  • Anyone can nominate. There is a nomination fee of $400. This fee allows you to nominate a technology product or service in one category. You can also nominate that same technology product or service in other categories for an additional fee of $200 per category. The number of total nominations for a single technology product or service is limited to three categories.
  • Finalists and Winners will receive a complimentary seat at The American Technology Awards Reception and Government and Technology Dinner held on June 13, 2012 in Washington D.C.
  • All nominations must be received on or before Friday, March 16, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. (Eastern)
  • If selected to receive a Terman, a company executive must be able to attend the American Technology Awards Reception in June 13, 2012 in Washington, D.C.
  • All nominations must be submitted via our online nomination form. You may use this nomination worksheet to help you prepare your nomination.


Nomination Benefits


  • All nominees will receive exposure to press via the judging process.
  • All finalists will receive a Terman finalist logo to display on their product or service.
  • All finalists and award winners will be posted to the TechAmerica Foundation website.
  • All award winners will receive a Terman award winner logo to display on their product or service.
