On June 16, 2010, TechAmerica Foundation hosted its Eighth Annual Technology and Government Dinner. The dinner is the premier Washington, DC networking event bringing hundreds of tech industry, congressional, and government leaders together at one venue to celebrate the partnership between industry and government.
In past years, attendees have joined TechAmerica Foundation (then AeA) for the sold-out event to hear keynote addresses from top executives from Google, Microsoft, Sun Microsystems, Research in Motion, Xerox Corporation, Adobe Systems Incorporated, and Motorola Corporation.
To begin the evening, we held the American Technology Awards Reception which bestows the only “Best Of” awards that recognize all technology products and services for the technology industry. Nominations for The American Technology Awards “The Termans” were vetted by industry experts and technology companies. These awards have been named after Frederick Terman, who is widely credited as being the father of Silicon Valley.
The dinner also supported Jose’s Place, which is a charity to raise money to build a proto-type state of the art home for soldiers wounded with traumatic brain injury. By using technology in these state of the art homes they can improve the lives of these soldiers after they leave the VA hospitals.

About TechAmerica Foundation
TechAmerica Foundation educates industry executives, policy makers and opinion leaders on the promise of technological innovation to advance prosperity, security and the general welfare. Launched in 1981, the foundation is a 501c(3) non-profit, non-partisan affiliate of TechAmerica, the leading voice and resource for the U.S. technology industry. It disseminates award-winning industry, policy and market research covering topics such as U.S. competitiveness in a global economy, innovation in government, and other areas of national interest.
The history of the association dates back to 1943 when David Packard and 25 of Hewlett-Packard’s suppliers formed the West Coast Electronics Manufacturing Association (WCEMA) to help West Coast companies secure government contracts during World War II. The spirit of Packard’s initial intentions is honored every year at TechAmerica Foundation’s Technology and Government Dinner in Washington, D.C.
