James MillerTechAmerica Foundation and leaders from industry and government explored current and future international defense markets and issues involved with defense industry support of U.S. international security efforts at the Inaugural International Defense Forum on December 10.

The Forum featured keynote speaker Dr. James N. Miller, Principal Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Policy. Additionally, an expert panel discussed the tension between U.S. policies promoting international security programs and policies restricting defense technologies that may be needed to support those programs.

Panelists include:

In addition to networking opportunities, other highlights included analysis of international defense budgets and markets, and forecasting of international defense trends and opportunities. The meeting was attended by representatives of U.S. technology industries which sell defense-related products and services to allied foreign governments as well as U.S. government representatives who desired to learn more about the international defense business environment.

International Defense Group: A cross-industry volunteer team providing the research, interviews and analysis necessary to conduct the annual International Defense Forum. The group complements the work of the domestic defense portion of the annual TechAmerica Vision Conference and Forecast. The International Defense Group examines non-U.S. defense budgets, markets, trends and opportunities on behalf of TechAmerica member companies.
