Mr. Loomis is a Managing Director at Stifel Nicolaus & Company, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Stifel Financial Corp. (SF-NYSE), a full-service regional brokerage and investment banking firm, established in 1890. He provides research coverage on the aerospace, defense and government information technology and professional services industry. Mr. Loomis joined Stifel following its acquisition of Legg Mason’s capital markets group in 2005. Prior to joining Legg Mason in 1997, he followed the IT Services industry for Ferris, Baker Watts, Inc., for seven years. Mr. Loomis has received various awards and recognitions for his research and stock picking performance. Most recently, Mr. Loomis was ranked second among stock pickers in the IT services industry by Financial Times/Starmine for 2009. He also ranked fifth among stock pickers in the Internet and technology services industry in the Wall Street Journal Best on the Street Analysts Survey for 2009, and ranked third in 2008 and fifth in the 2003, 2004, and 2005 surveys. Mr. Loomis is a frequent commenter to the media on government IT industry issues, and has been a regular columnist for Washington Technology for the past decade and has been a speaker at various conferences and industry events over the years. Mr. Loomis is a CFA charterholder, a member of the Baltimore Security Analysts Society, and a member of the Association for Investment Management Research. Mr. Loomis is a graduate of the University of Maryland.
