Anne Reed is president and chief executive officer (CEO) of Acquisition Solutions, Inc. (ASI), a trusted advisor to government leaders seeking to improve mission performance, enhance organizational effectiveness and drive strategic change. Anne also serves on the company’s Board of Directors.

Anne joined ASI as president in 2003, and she assumed responsibilities as CEO in 2008. In this capacity, Anne has built on ASI’s established foundation in the federal procurement arena, and expanded the company’s capacity to serve public management and programs.

Through Anne’s leadership, ASI has developed a wide range of performance- and results-focused solutions to support public sector acquisition and management organizations. The company continues to expand its consulting practice, deliver exception value through the Acquisition Solutions Training Institute™ and provide a diverse array of resources and tools through the Virtual Acquisition Office™. As a result, ASI has received accolades ranging from its status as a “Most Admired Knowledge Enterprise” in North American to its description as one of the top three “Diversity Friendly” companies in the nation. The company was even provided an honorable mention as one of the “Best Places to Work” in the Washington, D.C. region.

Prior to joining ASI, Anne held positions of increasing responsibility at Electronic Data Systems (EDS). These included president of EDS’s State and Local Government Solutions organization, and vice president of the company’s Government Global Industry group. There, Anne consulted on e-government strategies and information technology strategic investment decision-making models.

In addition, during her public-sector career, Anne served as the first chief information officer at the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), pioneering efforts in e-government and capital planning.

Previous to that, Anne received an appointment as deputy assistant secretary for Administration at USDA. She also served for 12 years as a civilian in the Department of the Navy, held a senior administrative appointment with the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and worked as a city government position in Nashville, Tenn.

Anne has received widespread recognition for her achievements in government. She served as an Obama-Biden CIO transition advisor from 2008 to 2009. In addition, she received the 2008 BRAVO award for CEOs, and she was a finalist for the 2007 Greater Washington Contractors Awards’ CEO of the year. Anne received the Federal Computer Week’s Federal 100 Award (2010, 2002, 1999), the John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Alumni Achievement Award (2001), the Vice President’s Hammer Award for her leadership during Y2K planning and implementation (2000), Government Computer News’ Government Executive of the Year Award (1998), and the Federation of Industry and Government Information Processing Councils’ Government Executive of the Year Award (1997). In 1998, Anne was inducted into the Pi Alpha Alpha National Honor Society for Public Affairs and Administration by the American University, and in 1995 she was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by the Governor of Kentucky.

Anne currently serves on a recurring panel entitled “Achieving Results and Protecting Public Values in a System of Networked Governance” at the John F. Kennedy School of Government. In addition, she is a SAGE on behalf of the Partnership for Public Service, as well as a member of advisory committees for numerous associations. Committed to giving back, Anne is a founding director of LaBECA Women’s Scholarship Foundation, which funds education for women and girls in Latin America and the Caribbean.
